Valentine’s Day

Sloppy kisses, sticky hugs and sweet “I wuv yous” spell V-day with littles. Celebrate your love with cuddles and storybook reading with books “Valentine Mice!” by Bethany Roberts and “Happy Valentine’s Day Mouse by Laura Numeroff with a yummy snack. You can find these books read aloud on youtube too. Make a pink & red trail mix with yogurt covered pretzels, freeze dried strawberries, rice chex mex, unreal chocolate gems and cashews or popcorn (if safe for your child).

Create heart art with tissue paper and contact paper. Start with square of contact paper. Tear colored tissue paper into small pieces. Stick the tissue paper onto the contact paper square. Place another piece of contact paper on top and cut out a heart shape. Great project for little hands and learning to follow simple directions

And what’s Valentine’s Day without love letters? Provide your child with little hearts cut from paper or paper and stickers. Then depending your child’s writing skills, write the letter of their name or their loved one’s name and have them scribble, dictate what they love about their loved one, or right “I love you, _” and they can color in or “stamp” their handprint.
